Introduction

You guys, I am so excited for today’s blog post because it is all about Human Design – one of my favorite topics EVER!

Before we get into it, here is a website to get a copy of your Human Design chart so you can understand what aspects of this article are relevant to you. And, if you do pull up your chart for the first time- screenshot it and send it to me! I’d love to see it and chat more about Human Design with you.

So what is Human Design?

Human Design is a system that combines various teachings, such as the Kabbalah, the I Ching, astrology, the chakra system, and quantum physics. And in Human Design, you have a unique body graph chart that takes into account several factors, including your aura type, centers, channels, and gates, which all play a role in shaping your unique characteristics and behaviors.

When you understand your Human Design chart it can act as a blueprint for navigating life and business by connecting to your intuition rather than acting based on societal conditioning.

Human Design is so liberating because it allows you to view your work as art rather than a daunting to-do list staring you down. You start making decisions that feel good and authentic rather than looking to others for what you “should” be doing.

In this blog post, I will share an overview of what Human Design is, how it can inform business strategies, and help you connect with your intuition.

This is me…. & yes, now I feel naked! lol

The Different Aura Types:

According to Human Design, there are five different aura types: Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Each aura type has unique qualities that influence the way they interact with the world and people around them.

Below is a brief overview of each type and the best strategies for each:

  1. Manifestor (Strategy – Inform Before Acting): Manifestors are natural leaders who have the ability to initiate action and make things happen. However, it’s really important for them to inform the people around them of their intentions to avoid conflict or resistance. Manifestors are natural leaders and perform best with clear communication and transparency. They are here to dominate! (lol 🙂👑)
  2. Generator (Strategy – To Respond): Generators have a sub-type, Manifesting Generators, and the aura types overlap (ex: both have a defined Sacral center) with some slight differences. Generators have the ability to perfect a project, skill, or task. Once they “respond” to an activity they create a methodical step-by-step process to accomplish the task, but since they don’t have a similar connection with the Manifestor, like the sub-aura, they may hit plateaus & need a question or insight to respond to. It’s also important for Generators to do what they love so they don’t quit in the process.
  3. Manifesting Generator (Strategy – To Respond): In comparison to the Generator, Mani-Gens have more spontaneous and playful energy & the gift of efficiency. In addition, since they are similar to Manifestors they can move more quickly from response to manifestation. They can see what steps are essential and which can be skipped, but because they can be impatient and move quickly they often make silly errors and need to backtrack. To avoid this, they should slow down and pay more attention to their actions. Mani-Gen’s are also multi-passionate people, so they should put emphasis on innovation and creativity in their businesses & not keep themselves in a box.
  4. Projector (Strategy – Wait for the Invitation): Projectors are natural guides who have the ability to see the potential in others and guide them toward a new way of doing things. They have so much wisdom to share but need to wait for recognition and invitations before offering their guidance. In business, Projectors do well with a focus on relationships and collaboration, providing guidance and support to those who seek it. It’s also important for Projectors to find an efficient and effective workflow so they do not burn themselves out.
  5. Reflector (Strategy – Wait a Lunar Cycle): Reflectors are rare individuals who are highly sensitive to the energies around them. They need to wait for a lunar cycle before making any major decisions. In business, Reflectors do well with a flexible and adaptable approach, allowing them to respond to changes and shifts in their environment.

With that being said, it’s important to note that these are general guidelines. I always recommend people start by becoming aware of their chart and what each aspect means so they can begin experimenting in their daily life. For example, I am a Generator and my strategy is to respond, so if I ever feel a lack of motivation, I’ll turn on a relevant video to help inspire me and kick-start my day! I’m also an emotional authority, so if I need to make a major decision I will take time to think about it and wait until I’m at an emotionally neutral point before making a decision.

Ultimately, the best marketing and business strategies for each aura type depend on a variety of factors, including their strengths, weaknesses, and individual goals – so it’s important to understand your profile type as well.

Profile Type:

In Human Design, the profile is a combination of two numbers and can provide insights into how you learn and move through the world. It can also be described as your personality and the role you’re meant to play in this lifetime. The two numbers are represented by numbers 1-6, and each number has a unique meaning. For example, someone with a 1/3 profile is a natural leader who may encounter challenges with self-worth and learning from mistakes.

Understanding your profile type can inform business strategies by providing insights into your natural strengths and weaknesses. For example, I am a 2/4 which means I’m really good at building community, so it’s better for me to focus on selling to my community than to strangers.

Each person’s profile is displayed as a fraction. The top number represents the conscious line – which relates to how you see yourself, your conscious personality, and your mind. The bottom number represents the unconscious line – which relates to how others see you, your unconscious design, and your body.

Here’s a breakdown of the different lines:

  • Line 1: Investigator —> Loves researching, investigating, and always seeks out new information to feel secure and confident.
  • Line 2: Hermit —> Tends to be introverted and needs alone time. They like to get lost in their own process, and they are naturally talented. Hermit profiles need to wait for the right call to come out and share their gifts with others.
  • Line 3: Martyr —> Lives life through a trial-and-error process, always experimenting and diving into things despite what others say, so that they can come to their own truth and conclusions.
  • Line 4: Opportunist —> Tends to be someone who highly values connections and their relationships. The Opportunist is great at building community and may find their greatest opportunities come from their network.
  • Line 5: Heretic —> Has an attractive aura that projects to others that they have the solutions to their problems, and that they are here to “save the day”.
  • Line 6: Role Model —>The 6th line role model is the wise “buddha” archetype that goes through a unique 3-stage life process. The first 30 years of their life are experienced as a line 3 Martyr which helps them develop into a great role model that shares their wisdom with others.

To learn even more about your natural strengths and weaknesses, check out which of your centers are defined and which are undefined – this will tell you where you are most susceptible to conditioning and how to become aware of it and combat it.

Next up, authorities!

In Human Design, your authority refers to the way you connect with your intuition and make decisions. Ra Uru Hu, the founder of Human Design, explains that it’s not best to make decisions from your thinking mind because that’s where all the conditioning is. To make decisions that are in alignment with your desires, you should instead use your authority to make decisions that are truly right for you. There are six different authorities, including emotional, sacral, splenic, ego, self-projected, and lunar. Each authority has a unique way of connecting with one’s intuition, and understanding your authority can help you make better decisions in business and in life.

See below for how you can experiment with each authority ⬇️

  1. Ego Authority: Decision-making involves taking the time to reflect on their inner truth and aligning with their authentic self – usually by speaking from their heart.
  2. Splenic Authority: Operates in the moment, trusting their instincts and taking action without hesitation.
  3. Self-Authority: Requires a deep understanding of oneself and the ability to tap into intuition and inner wisdom and can be done by talking things through.
  4. Emotional Authority: Processes decisions over time, experiencing a wave of emotions until clarity is reached.
  5. Sacral Authority: Operates in the present moment, with a simple “yes” or “no” response that aligns with their gut instinct.
  6. Lunar Authority: Lunar authority is specific to Reflectors. By waiting for a full lunar cycle before making any major decisions, Reflectors can gain a deeper understanding of the energies at play and make decisions that are in alignment with their intuition and energetic makeup.

So what does this mean?

Human Design provides a unique framework for understanding your energetic makeup and making better decisions in life and business. By de-conditioning yourself from societal expectations and connecting to your intuition, you can start running your business in alignment with your truest self!

It’s also great to be aware of when running a business because it helps you notice patterns when things work or when they don’t. I can tell you from experience, understanding my Human Design has provided so many insights into what strategies work with me rather than against me. It also helps me understand how I work best so I can better manage myself.
