Brand Strategy Vs. Brand Identity

First off, let’s clear the air on brand strategy versus brand identity. Your brand strategy sets the tone for everything else in your business, from your purpose and values to messaging and client experience. Whereas your brand identity includes visual elements, such as your logo, typography, color pallet, and imagery. Think of brand strategy as the “why” and brand identity as the “what.”

& trust me, I know it’s tempting to jump straight to the fun stuff like picking out your brand colors and fonts, but let me bring you in on a little secret: nailing your brand strategy is like building the foundation of your house. You wouldn’t want to decorate your house before building a strong foundation, would you? The same goes for your brand. Your brand strategy is what guides all other aspects of your business strategy, so it’s crucial to get it right first. Take time to get super clear on your purpose, values, and beliefs – and make sure you’re speaking directly to your ideal client and highlighting the problem you solve.

The Importance of Defining your Ideal Client

Speaking of ideal clients, one of the most important aspects of your brand strategy is having clarity on who you are speaking to and what problem you help them solve. As much as we’d all love to help everyone with every problem they’ve ever had, that’s just not realistic.

As the saying goes, if you speak to everyone, you speak to no one. It’s also important to note that your brand can evolve over time, but your offer and the problem you solve should be direct and clear. So, get specific and clear on your ideal client and key messages, and you’ll start attracting them like a magnet.

The Bread & Butter of any Brand: Beliefs and Values

Now, let’s get to the juicy stuff – your beliefs and values. To magnetize your marketing, you need to get extremely clear on your beliefs and values.

What do you value in your experiences with other brands, and how can you ensure you provide that service for your clients? What core beliefs do you have about your business or industry?

Once you are clear on your brand values, you MUST be honest and transparent in sharing these beliefs with your audience. Don’t let trolls and haters gaslight you or make you silence your authentic voice. The universal law of polarity states there will always be people who disagree with you, and that’s okay. Sharing your true beliefs & perspectives will filter out unaligned clients and draw in your soul humans.

So, what is one belief you have, but you’re too afraid to share it? I highly recommend reflecting on this question and observing what comes through.

The Art of Selling

Now, let’s talk about sales. Every business needs to make sales, but the way you go about it says a lot about your brand. Cold DMs? Please, no. Let’s leave that in 2015 where it belongs. Instead, build relationships with potential clients through social media, email marketing, blogs, and networking events. It’s important to establish a connection with your audience and understand their pain points and needs. You want to create content that is specific to the problem you solve but doesn’t harp on the pain points. Instead, focus on providing value and actionable steps they can take right away to reach their desired outcome.

Once you’ve established a relationship and demonstrated your expertise, it’s important to offer a clear and specific solution to their problem. This can be in the form of a coaching package, online course, or masterclass. Be sure to clearly communicate the benefits and value of your offer, and be transparent about pricing and what’s included. Nothing irritates me more than the lack of pricing transparency! Additionally, offering a free discovery call or consultation can be a great way to build trust and showcase your coaching style and approach.

Finally, don’t be afraid to ask for the sale! Many coaches shy away from direct sales, but it’s important to remember that you are providing a valuable service and deserve to be compensated for your time and expertise. With a clear and effective sales strategy, you can attract and convert your ideal clients and build a thriving coaching business.
